Nash Lake Fiber Farm is a small fiber farm located in Webster, Minnesota, 30 miles South of Minneapolis/St. Paul.  Nestled along the shores of Nash Lake, the farm was completed in 2020 and is the home to a flock of 5 Romney sheep, 2 Southdown Sheep, and assortment of free-range chickens, bunnies and “Sarge”, our resident guardian llama.

A creator and maker since childhood, it was always Amy’s dream to make something from the wool of her very own sheep!  In 2021, she chose to bring Romney and Southdown sheep to her farm.  Romney, a long-wool breed, originates in Southeast England and are shorn twice a year.  They produce long, crimped staples which are easy to spin and are soft to the skin.  Southdown sheep, are the oldest of the “down” sheep and also originate in England.  They produce a shorter, spongy staple length wool.  Amy is dedicated to raising her flock in an ethical and compassionate manner.

Much of Amy’s favorite time has been spent in the company of other makers- laughing, creating and inspiring each other! She is most excited to build a community of fiber artists at her farm- providing a safe and nurturing place to connect, create and learn.  Amy enjoys sharing her beautiful post and beam barn and lovely environment hosting fiber events and classes on-site.  Amy and her flock welcome all who are interested in learning and building lasting relationships within the fiber community.
