We raise Leicester Longwool sheep along with a few Cormo and Romeldale/CVMs on our 40-acre farm in western Wisconsin. Leicester Longwool is a heritage breed sheep with fleece prized for its staple length, strength and lustrous beauty making it a great option for outerwear and weaving projects. We added Cormo and Romeldale/CVM breeds to our flock because of their soft fleece for those “next-to-skin” projects. Along with our sheep, we keep bees and hens that generously provide honey and eggs throughout the year. Our organic orchard of antique fruit trees and two acres of native prairie grasses and wildflowers provide a wonderful habitat for bees, butterflies and birds year round. We believe in the importance of raising our animals in an ethical manner and incorporate regenerative agriculture practices including rotational grazing, composting and increasing plant diversity. We are also a proud member of the Livestock Conservancy whose mission is “To protect America’s endangered livestock and poultry breeds from extinction”.
